Recycling for Demolition & Construction Projects
Recyclable materials are sorted on every demolition project and all recycling is tracked for reference or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) project requirements. Visco averages 80 to 95% waste diversion from landfills for demolition projects.
Visco maintains a variety of specialized equipment to transport and process three main recycling streams:
- 1Concrete is crushed and resold as recycled concrete aggregate.
- 2Asphalt is crushed and resold as recycled asphalt.
- 3Metal is sold to scrap metal dealer(s).
Visco recycles 2,000 to 5,000 tons of metal per year. Mobile shears are used to process the metal to meet mill specifications and increase density of shipped loads.
Concrete Recycling
We crush and process demolished concrete into high-quality recycled aggregate that can be reused in roadwork, backfill, and other construction projects.
Metal Recycling
Steel and other metals are separated on-site and delivered to certified recycling facilities, ensuring valuable materials are recovered responsibly.
Asphalt Recycling
Old asphalt pavement is processed and reused, reducing the need for new material and keeping thousands of tonnes out of landfills.
Wood & Miscellaneous Material
Whenever possible, wood and other materials are separated from the waste stream and directed to appropriate recycling or repurposing facilities.
Bin Services for Waste Sorting
Visco Demolition can supply roll-off bins to manage waste and recycling on project sites. Our bins are available in a range of sizes and can be delivered and removed on schedule to keep your project moving.
