Intro To Recycling

Recycling for Demolition & Construction Projects

Recyclable materials are sorted on every demolition project and all recycling is tracked for reference or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) project requirements. Visco averages 80 to 95% waste diversion from landfills for demolition projects.

Visco maintains a variety of specialized equipment to transport and process three main recycling streams:

  • 1
Concrete is crushed and resold as recycled concrete aggregate.
  • 2
Asphalt is crushed and resold as recycled asphalt.
  • 3
Metal is sold to scrap metal dealer(s).

Visco recycles 2,000 to 5,000 tons of metal per year. Mobile shears are used to process the metal to meet mill specifications and increase density of shipped loads.
